Firey Strings Company, also known as FSCO was founded in 2011 to expand the art of string playing. The company provides cutting edge platforms for the performance, creation, presentation of Jazz and Improvisation. We have a passion for highlighting female artists. Our audiences are introduced to new and exciting programs while we simultaneously provide an enriching artistic community for improvisers. Our diverse, powerhouse improvisers are from the United States, Mexico, Cuba, Poland, Japan, Germany and beyond. FSCO presents solo artists to 10-piece ensembles. Our programs have been featured at several exciting venues in the USA like BAM Cafe, South Orange Performing Arts Center, Martha Graham Studios, Harlem School of the Arts Theater, Hostos College, Brooklyn Museum, at festivals like Harlem’s Sugar Hill Music Festival, Coltrane Day Festival and lately on Bettye LaVette's latest Grammy nominated recording Thing's Have Changed.
